Surely Not Everyone Was Kung Fu Fighting T Shirt. Very funny. I mean it’s good to be accurate. Exaggeration has its place, but not when it comes to making claims like this. This could be a very dangerous situation. You don’t want to cause panic.
Was Carl Douglas ever visited by the FBI? Were they concerned he was basically yelling fire in a crowded theater. This song is right on the line. I think maybe they didn’t because it has that Asian sounding jingle within the song, which is cute and catchy.
That is a fantastic song and video. Yes, there’s an ironic, kitzchiness, but the funk is solid. The voice is strong. And the subject matter is, well, very specific. Did this dude Douglas ever do another song, or was he a very special case of one-hit wonder?

Not to be confused with Carl E. Douglas, who was part of O.J. Simpson’s Dream Team of lawyers, this fine Jamaican musician, Carlton George Douglas, was really into the kung fu. Three of his four albums had titles alluding to the sacred art.
In fact, in the music video above he does show a few legit moves. I wonder if he was a practitioner? He certainly had a nice silk kung fu outfit.
By the way, Douglas is alive and kicking at 75. Good for him. Did you know he was also in a band called Gonzalez? It was a British R&B outfit, that seems to have run through a lot of musicians.
Was going to embed their hit song, Haven’t Stopped Dancing Yet, but it sucks, so I’ll skip it.
Hey, did you know there’s a place in this world where you can find all of the funny tees?
